Refund Offsets

If an individual owes child support, student loans, or other federal obligations, the refund may be offset, or kept to pay the debt.

If you are Efiling tax returns and your fees are  paid out of the client's refund, then you will be pleased to know that the Federal Government will release information regarding offsets to the individual, or to you, if you have the proper written permission.  This is far better than waiting until the acknowledgment has been received from the IRS after the tax return has been filed. This will enable you to make arrangements for your fees to be paid up front, or to send them to your "favorite" competitor!
